VOLUNTEER FAQ’s
Many of our volunteer positions do not require previous experience, but volunteers must be able to communicate effectively. We provide training needed for our volunteer positions.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Volunteers who are 16 and 17 years of age must submit a Consent Form signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Kids under 16 can still help us in other ways. We have opportunities for youth and their families, schools, or youth-based organizations to get involved by doing special projects such as hosting a donation drive to collect pet supplies, or a fundraiser like a bake sale to benefit Paw Partners Unleashed.

Volunteers should provide their own transportation or carpool to and from volunteering assignments. Some volunteer positions do require use of a vehicle for picking up or dropping off donations.
We do ask volunteers to give a minimum of 4 hours of their time per month, but you may choose to volunteer as often as you would like. Scheduling varies by specific volunteer role or by event. Please note, those who do not volunteer within 90 days of orientation or are inactive for 1 year will be removed from our volunteer database.
At this time, we do not offer court-ordered community service hours.
Event volunteers will be given location details in advance for each event they sign up to help. Operations support volunteers may either work from their home, our office, or in the field, dependent on the type of volunteer assignment.
When volunteering at events, volunteers should wear Paw Partners Unleashed logo apparel, unless otherwise notified. Any time a volunteer is representing the organization, volunteers should always wear appropriate, clean attire.
Please leave your pets at home. Volunteers should not bring pets to events that they are scheduled to volunteer, as it reduces attention that needs to be focused on event work. If you are not scheduled to volunteer for a specific event, we encourage you to attend our pet-friendly events with your pet(s).
Yes, but anyone who would like to help at events must complete a Volunteer Application and complete the enrollment process prior to volunteering. Friends and/or family members are welcome to attend events as guests; however, we ask that volunteers focus on their assignments.
